2005 Montreal International Voice Competition.The Montreal International Musical Competition The Montreal International Musical Competition (French: Concours Musical International de Montréal) is a high-level musical competition for violin, piano, and voice, first established in 2002. for Voice, formerly the Jeunesses Musicales Montreal International Competition, will take place May 9-20, 2005, in Montreal, Canada. Presented by Jeunesses Musicales of Canada, in partnership with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, this competition is open to young singers from all countries who intend to pursue a professional career in music. It is open to men and women of all nationalities who, on January 1, 2005, are 33 years old or less. The 2005 edition is not open to the winner of the 2002 Competition's First Prize. The Competition awards six prizes and five special prizes (in Canadian dollars Noun 1. Canadian dollar - the basic unit of money in Canada; "the Canadian dollar has the image of loon on one side of the coin" loonie dollar - the basic monetary unit in many countries; equal to 100 cents ): first grand prize, $25,000; second grand prize, $15,000; third grand prize, $7,500; fourth prize, $5,000; fifth prize, $4,000; and sixth prize, $3,000.
