2005 IW nominations begin.


The eighth annual Influential Women of Northern Ontario Northern Ontario is the part of the province of Ontario which lies north of Lake Huron (including Georgian Bay), the French River and Lake Nipissing.

Northern Ontario has a land area of 802,000 km² (310,000 mi²) and constitutes 87% of the land area of Ontario, although it
 (IW) awards gala will be held in Sault Ste. Marie Sault Sainte Marie — pronounced "Soo Saint Marie" (IPA /su seɪnt məˈɹi/) — is the name of two cities on the Saint Marys River, which forms part of the boundary between the United States and Canada.  at Algoma's Water Tower Inn on May 30, and in Thunder Bay at the Fort William Historical Park Fort William Historical Park (formerly known as Old Fort William) is a Canadian historical site located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, that contains a reconstruction of the Fort William fur trade post as it existed in 1815. It officially opened on July 3, 1973.  on June 2.

Nominations are now being accepted in the following award categories: private sector, public sector, exporting and young entrepreneur.

Candidates for these prestigious awards are either entrepreneurs, up-and-coming leaders, or established leaders in senior positions within one of the four categories. Eight women (four from northeastern Ontario and four from northwestern Ontario) will be honoured. Award-winners will also be profiled in the annual IW feature publication, which will be distributed with the June edition of Northern Ontario Business Northern Ontario Business is a Canadian magazine, which publishes monthly in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The magazine covers business news and issues in Northern Ontario. .
