2005 Foundry Executive Conference lays out building blocks.


Today's marketplace and the baby boomer's impact on the labor force were two of the key issues addressed at the three-day 2005 AFS A distributed file system for large, widely dispersed Unix and Windows networks from Transarc Corporation, now part of IBM. It is noted for its ease of administration and expandability and stems from Carnegie-Mellon's Andrew File System.

 Foundry Executive Conference held Oct. 16-18 in Newport, R.I.

Day One featured presentations by Ian Kay Ian Kay (born in 1967, UK), is a convicted murderer, known as the "Woolworths Killer", and notable for committing an attack which cost the infamous serial killer Peter Sutcliffe the use of one eye. , Cast Metals Institute, on the importance of education and Diana Waterman, Waterman & Assoc., on recent federal government action. Day Two's speakers included:

* William O'Hara, Institute for Family Enterprise, who presented "The Effect of the Next Generation Running the Family Business;"

* John Harpootian, Paster & Harpootian Ltd., who presented, "Succession Planning Management Succession Planning
In organizational development, succession planning is the process of identifying and preparing suitable employees through mentoring, training and job rotation, to replace key players — such as the chief executive officer (CEO) —

The final day of speakers included Alfred Spada, MODERN CASTING, and Don Huizenga, Deacon Assoc. These presentations centered on the metalcasting industry today and the myths and realities of global marketing. At the reception and President's Banquet, two distinguished AFS members were honored for their dedicated and active involvement in the metalcasting industry. George Boyd George Boyd may refer to:
