2005 Amadeus 20th-Century Piano Competition winners.


Winners of the second annual Amadeus 20th Century Piano Competition have been announced. With more than $2,500 in prize monies awarded, the competition provided a weekend of outstanding performances.

In the collegiate division, first place went to Lyndon Meyer of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Broken Arrow is a city located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Oklahoma, primarily in Tulsa County with an extension into western Wagoner County. It is the largest suburb of Tulsa. , student of Jura Margulis, University of Arkansas The University of Arkansas strives to be known as a "nationally competitive, student-centered research university serving Arkansas and the world." The school recently completed its "Campaign for the 21st Century," in which the university raised more than $1 billion for the school, used . Second place was awarded to Syneva Colle of Ponca City, Oklahoma Ponca City is a city located in north central Oklahoma, 18 miles south of the Kansas border and 15 miles east of Interstate 35. The population was 25,596[1] at the 2000 census. Ponca City is the most populous city in Kay County. , student of Roger Price, NCTM, University of Tulsa; and third place was awarded to Jeremy Ricketson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, also a student of Price.

The senior (high school) division winners were first place winner Alec Tauscher, of Overland Park, Kansas Overland Park is the second most populous city in the U.S. state of Kansas. It is located in Johnson County, a satellite city of Kansas City, and is near Olathe, Lenexa, Prairie Village and Leawood. In 2006, the estimated population is 167,500. , student of Jack Winerock; and second place winner Emma Krivohlavek of Claremore, Oklahoma, student of Candy Gaffen. Third place was won by Tulsa, Oklahoma's, Laura Berman, student of Price.

In the junior (middle school) division, Tulsa, Oklahoma's Amy Tai, student of Gloria Johnson, NCTM, took home first prize. Mark Osborn, also of Tulsa, and student of Gaffen, won second place.
