2004 summer programs.San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden was the site of the 19th Annual Dwarf National Games. Athletes gathered at the San Mateo San Mateo (săn mətā`ō), city (1990 pop. 85,486), San Mateo co., W Calif., on San Francisco Bay; inc. 1894. It is a commercial and retail center with some high-technology manufacturing. San Mateo, Spanish for St. Community College and San Mateo High School July 2-5, 2004. Athletes participated in an equestrian clinic at a local stable, and the DAAA DAAA Dwarf Athletic Association of America DAAA Detroit Area Agency on Aging Junior and Open Nationals were held at the same venues during the week-long event. Athletes competed in power lifting, table tennis, and boccia at the Hyatt Hotel. Basketball, badminton, and swimming took place at the Community College. Soccer and track and field events were held at San Mateo High School. The National Games are held each year in conjunction with the Little People of America Little People of America (LPA) is a not-for-profit organization which provides support and information to those with dwarfism and their families. Membership in LPA is limited to people 4'10" and under, their families, or those who "demonstrate a well-founded interest in Convention, where an estimated 2500 attendees were expected. The 7th Annual DAAA Golf Outing took place on July 7, at a local golf course, as well. DAAA Athletes are also preparing for next year's World Dwarf Games in July, 2005, in Paris, France. Team and staff selection will be made later this summer. The World Dwarf Games are held every four years and are organized by IDAF IDAF Interacting Distributed Approximating Function (International Dwarf Athletic Federation) and the local organizing committee.
