Vicksburg

The Vicksburg Spring Pilgrimage and Candlelight Tours are a great way to enjoy the beauty of Vicksburg's many historic homes. Natchez

Historic house tours and unique special attractions are all part of the magic of Natchez's popular springtime event. This year, 31 antebellum mansions will open their doors to visitors. The selection of homes will change each morning and afternoon. While not touring, guests can enjoy the Historic Natchez Pageant, an elaborate musical production featuring scenes of the old South; "Songs of the South," with traditional spirituals, Gershwin and Foster tunes, and more; "The Southern Road to Freedom," a musical tribute to the African-American experience here; and "Southern Exposure," a hilarious pilgrimage spoof See spoofing.

Gulf Coast

This coast-wide event, touted as the only free pilgrimage in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , features tours of historic homes, gardens, and churches; a floral expo; and special activities at museums and historic sites in Diamondhead, Pascagoula, Moss Point, Gautier, Pass Christian, Bay St. Louis, Long Beach, Gulfport, Biloxi, and Ocean Springs. A Southern tea and fashion show, the only event for which admission is charged, will be held March 30 at the Gulf Hills Hotel; advance tickets are required. Port Gibson

The 12th annual Port Gibson Main Street Heritage Festival, set for March 26-28, promises three fun-filled days with live music, arts and crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant. The term was coined in England in the late 19th cent. as a label for the then-current movement directed toward the revivifying of the decorative arts. , great food, tours, and more. The city's Spring Pilgrimage will take place April 3, offering tours of several splendid antebellum homes and churches.
