The market research firm said it estimated that the market would be shipping 14m wireless modems by 2009, from 2.5m in 2004. The data was gathered from the first three quarters of 2004 and estimates of fourth quarter results. The company found that initial growth in the future will come from cellular modem A wireless adapter that connects a laptop computer to a cellular telephone system for data transfer.
