2004 historic calendar of South Colorado.

Institution: The First National Bank in Trinidad, Trinidad, Colo.

Assets: $183 million; two branch locations and a loan production office

Agency: Drew & Hartung, Colorado Springs, Colo.

This collector's series calendar has become a community tradition--currently in its 18th year. Annually, the bank collects historic photographs and uses a local historian to write a story to be spread over the 12 months of the calendar.

"The calendar promotes the rich cultural heritage of Southern Colorado and builds positive relations with community members," says Christine L. Huffman, marketing officer. By promoting the community's historic legacy, the bank also demonstrates its commitment to the community's development.

Huffman notes that a project of this scope requires about eight to 12 months of advance planning and development.

"It has achieved great success in our community," she says.
