2004 USFAA Essay Contest.


The United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  Field Artillery Association is sponsoring an Essay Contest for Association members and their immediate family members. The first, second and third place winners will receive prizes of $300, $150, and $50 respectively. Winning essays will be published in a future issue of the FA Journal and will appear on the USFAA USFAA United States Federal Aviation Administration  website.

* Subject: "Field Artillery Thunder--Rain or Freedom".

* Should be 300-400 words.

* Must be an original composition by the author and must not have been published previously.

* Must be typed and include the author's name Noun 1. author's name - the name that appears on the by-line to identify the author of a work

name - a language unit by which a person or thing is known; "his name really is George Washington"; "those are two names for the same thing"
, mailing address, daytime telephone number and email (if available), school grade level (if applicable), member's name, and relationship to Association member as applicable.

* Becomes the property of the United States Field Artillery Association.

* Contest judges will be Field Artillery, language (grammar and composition) and journalism professionals. Names of the essay authors will not be revealed to the judges, but the authors' education grade levels (if under age 18) will be taken into account.

* Must be submitted by mail to the United States Field Artillery Association, P.O. Box 33027, Fort Sill Fort Sill, U.S. military reservation, Comanche co., SW Okla., 4 mi (6.4 km) N of Lawton; est. 1869 by Gen. Philip Sheridan.
