2004 Summer Institute on General Education.


AAC&U's 2004 Institute on General Education will take place from May 21-26 in Newport, Rhode Island Newport is a city in Newport County, Rhode Island, United States, about 30 miles (48 km) south of Providence. It is the home of Naval Station Newport, housing the United States Naval War College, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, and a major United States Navy training center. , on the campus of Salve Regina University Salve Regina University is a university in Newport, Rhode Island. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, the university is a co-ed, private, non-profit institution chartered by the State of Rhode Island in 1934. . This Institute is the successor to the Asheville Institute on General Education that for thirteen years was held in collaboration with the University of North Carolina North Carolina, state in the SE United States. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean (E), South Carolina and Georgia (S), Tennessee (W), and Virginia (N). Facts and Figures
