2004 Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Gets ``Wild''.Sports Editors/Rodeo Writers and Columnists COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 29, 2004 Hold on to your hats, because the West is about to get really wild. The addition of a high-flying motorcycle act, cow-milking contest, and horse race to this summer's 64th annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo promises to pull fans even closer to the edge of their seats at the World Arena, August 11-15. "The Wild Child," Troy Lerwill, will perform for the first time during each rodeo performance. The show, named the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's Comedy Act of the Year in 2002 and 2003, is one of the most dangerous -- and funny -- specialty acts in rodeo history. Lerwill's comedic style and dare-devil motorcycle stunts have children and adults laughing one moment and holding their breath the next. Another new event in the 2004 line-up is the Wild Cow Milking, featuring competitive teams from area military, police, and fire departments. After a handful of wild cows are released into the arena, each team must catch one of the wild cows, fill up a bottle with milk, and race across the finish line. The third event is new to the World Arena, but is an old crowd favorite. The rodeo brings back Wild Horse Racing to kick off each rodeo performance.
