2004 Night of Dreams Performing Arts Showcase Exceeds Expectations; NOD Also Announces Inclusion in Raleigh First Night New Years Eve Celebration.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Night of Dreams, LLC (www.nightofdreams.org), a North Carolina based non-profit organization dedicated to providing alternative performance opportunities and building a support infrastructure for North Carolina based original performing artists, today announced that its second annual event exceeded expectations. The November 5th and 6th showcases drew more than 800 attendees and doubled their contribution ability this year to $2000 for Night of Dreams' two supported charities, the Center for Child and Family Health and the United Arts Councils', Artists in the Schools Program for Wake County.

"It is so wonderful to watch Night of Dreams grow year after year," stated Teresa Spangler, Night of Dreams founder. "It's even more gratifying to realize that we have touched so many people in the audience, made so many artists' dreams come true and have created awareness and support for two very deserving charities. We owe a great deal of thanks to the BTI Center and their staff and crew. They were an incredible support to our production. We loved working them and appreciate their interest and belief in the Night of Dreams!"

The 2004 showcase included more than 70 original artists ranging in age from 13 to 65. Their original works fused together to create a unique collection of visuals, sounds, dance, and musical genres. NC-based painter, George Buchanan donated two reflective art masterpieces that he created on stage during the two night performance. Night of Dreams will auction the two works of art as part of its 2005 fundraising efforts.

Night of Dreams also announced that it has been selected to "host" a stage at this year's First Night New Years Eve celebration. More than 25 NOD artists will help Raleigh residents ring in the New Year at the annual First Night, http://www.artsplosure.org/firstnightraleigh/2005, from 7pm to 11pm with non-stop original music. The NOD stage will be inside the Raleigh Convention Center.

In 2004, Night of Dreams gained the support of new sponsors including Progress Energy, Time Warner Cable, Mulkey Engineering and Consulting Services, Capitol Broadcasting, Amberwood Studios, and Academy of Performing Arts; and continued to receive support from returning sponsors including Jimmy Williams Productions, Capital City Club and Cardinal Club and Six String Cafe.
