The Triathlon features a stunning course, beginning and ending at Minneapolis' Lake Nokomis Lake Nokomis is one of several lakes in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The lake was originally named Lake Amelia in honor of Captain George Gooding’s daughter, Amelia, in 1819.  and following the Twin Cities beautiful Parkway system. Both Olympic- and short- distance courses will be offered. The short course includes a .4-mile swim, 15-mile bike race and a 3-mile run. The Olympic course features a 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run.

The Life Time Fitness Triathlon is a part of the Minneapolis Aquatennial The Minneapolis Aquatennial is an annual event held in the U.S. city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, since 1940 celebrating the city's famous lakes, rivers, and streams.
