2004 Leadership Luncheon sets the stage for Mackinac.


The fifth annual Leadership Luncheon, hosted by the Eight Mile Boulevard Association on April 23, will bring together key decision makers from our region to discuss timely public policy issues affecting both Eight Mile Road and Southeast Michigan Southeast Michigan, also called Southeastern Michigan, is a region in the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan that is home to a majority of the state's businesses and industries, and is home to slightly over half the state's population. .

The Detroit Regional Chamber proudly supports this event as the perfect foundation for the "Big Four" dialogue that will continue at the Chamber's Mackinac Policy Conference in early June. The luncheon will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Michigan State Fairgrounds n. pl. 1. same as fairground.  in Detroit.

Invited panelists include Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, Macomb County Board of Commissioners Chairperson Nancy White, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson Lewis Brooks Patterson (b. January 4 1939) is an American lawyer and politician, currently County Executive of Oakland County, Michigan. Oakland County has an affluent population of over a million, that includes the northern and northwestern suburbs of Detroit.  and Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano.

Special guests invited this year are U.S. Sens. Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow of Michigan and members of Congress from Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties.

Established in 1993, the Eight Mile Boulevard Association is a Michigan nonprofit corporation nonprofit corporation n. an organization incorporated under state laws and approved by both the state's Secretary of State and its taxing authority as operating for educational, charitable, social, religious, civic or humanitarian purposes.  designated by the IRS An abbreviation for the Internal Revenue Service, a federal agency charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing internal revenue laws.  as a 501(c)3 charity. The annual Leadership Luncheon is its primary fundraiser, providing 25 percent of its annual revenue.
