BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2004

More than 2,500 graduating students from over 430 colleges and universities across the nation participated in the survey. Following are the top-level top-lev·el

 findings.

Class of 2004 sees recovering job prospects.

-- 18% of graduating students have already secured full-time
employment as of mid-March. This is a dramatic improvement
over the Class of 2003, where only 8% had full employment as
        of May 2003.
-- The top fields of interest for graduates who have secured
        full-time employment were:
             1. Financial services (30%)
             2. Accounting (23%)
             3. Computer software/hardware/services (18%)
             4. Engineering (14%)
-- 48% believe their job prospects are better than last year's
        graduates.
-- To ensure success in landing a job, over 80% of students have
already started their job search. Most spend 1 to 5 hours each
        week.
-- Even with improving conditions, 90% expect it will take 3 to 6
        months to find a position.

Students consider internships critical to finding full-time
employment when they graduate.

-- 64% of graduating students held at least one internship, a 12%
increase from last year's graduates. The number of students
who held three or more has almost doubled from last year.
-- 85% held an internship in their preferred field of interest,
and as a result, nearly 70% feel more prepared to enter the
        workforce.
-- 26% turned their internships into full-time job offers after
graduation, and 45% believe their internship experience will
        make the job search easier.
-- The top advice by 27% of graduating students to underclassmen
was consistent with last year - "hold an internship prior to
        graduation."

University career centers, online job boards and networking are
students' most effective resources.

-- Students ranked their university career center as the most
effective career resource, with 78% using it at least once a
month and almost 50% using it at least once a week.
-- 68% of students utilized online job boards at least once a
week, ranking Experience's eRecruiting system as the most
        effective online career resource.
-- This year's graduating students ranked networking three times
more effective than last year's graduates with 70% networking
        at least once a month.

"These encouraging results are further evidence that the U.S. job
market is set to rebound. Before this happens, it is critical that
organizations rebuild their campus recruiting capacity and their
relationships with campus career centers," said Allan Schweyer,
Executive Director of the Human Capital Institute in Washington, D.C.
