2003-2004 board is seated.

At the Annual Conference in Nashville, July 19, ADAA's new officers and trustees were sworn in and the entire board was recognized during the President's Gala.

Inaugurated as President for 2003-2004 was Kay Mosley, CDA of Oklahoma City, OK. Ms. Mosley is an executive with the Oklahoma Dental Association and has served the ADAA as Ninth District Trustee and national Secretary, Vice President and President Elect in addition to having filled many offices at the state and local level for the Oklahoma Dental Assistants Association. Educated at Oklahoma State University, she is an advisor on the Rose State College Dental Assisting Board and the Metro Tech Dental Assisting Board, and is active in the United Way Campaign. She has received the Dr. Victor L. Andrews Award from the Oklahoma Dental Assistants Association as the Outstanding Dental Assistant of the Year and the Knarr Award for Outstanding Service. She is also the 2003 winner of the Ninth District Sullivan-Schein Award of Excellence.

President-Elect is Kristy S. Borquez, FADAA, CDA, EFDA, of Granada Hills, CA. Ms. Borquez has achieved several professional distinctions including being one of the nation's first Fellows of the American Dental Assistants Association. She is also a Certified Dental Assistant and a Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions. She is clinical coordinator in the Northridge Dental Group Practice, Northridge, CA. A member of the San Fernando Valley Dental Assistants Society and the California Dental Assistants Association, she has been president of both of those groups.

She holds several certificates and licenses in the dental assisting profession and is currently an examiner for the Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions exam. She is also with Dental Professionals of California as an instructor for RDA review classes and California Dental Law. As ADAA District Trustee for the 12th District most recently, she represented several thousand members in California, Nevada and Hawaii.

Elected Vice President was Debra L. Von Alman, CDA, RDA, Richfield, MN. Ms. Von Alman is both a Certified Dental Assistant and Registered Dental Assistant and has long been active with the American Dental Assistants Association on the local, state and national level.

She has held several offices in both the state and national ADAA organizations having been President of the Minnesota Dental Assistants Association and serving on the national finance and membership committees. Most recently, as ADAA Seventh District Trustee, she represented dental assistants in Minnesota, Wisconsin and North and South Dakota.

A graduate of Hibbing Technical College Dental Assisting Program, she has been an assistant for over 20 years working both clinically and administratively. Currently she is office manager for Park Dental, where she has been employed for 15 years.

ADAA's new national Secretary is Kimberly G. Bland, CDA, EFDA, EFOA, of Bradenton, FL. Ms. Bland is both a Certified Dental Assistant and an Expanded Function Dental Assistant. She has served as ADAA's Fifth District Trustee and as Chairman of the Council on Governance. She has held several offices in the local, state and national ADAA organizations having been President of the Florida Dental Assistants Association for three terms and serving nationally on the bylaws, awards, nominations and annual conference committees. She is immediate past president of the Sara-Mana Dental Assistants Society.

She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Health Occupation Students of America, and a member of the Florida Allied Dental Educators. A recent graduate of the University of South Florida, Ms. Bland majored in Industrial Technical Education. Previously she earned her Dental Assisting Certificate at Manatee Technical Institute where she is now Dental Assisting Program Instructor.
