2003 teacher enrichment grants awarded. (Foundation News).


Twelve teachers received grants this year from the FOUNDATION. Ten thousand dollars was awarded to assist recipients in their continuing educational and professional development. This year's grants were awarded to Michelle Gutz-Kleng, advanced study in theory to qualify for MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association

Teacher Enrichment Grants are awarded in the amount of $1,000, $750, $500 or $250 and may be used for private study, college-level course work, or special projects in performance, pedagogy, music theory and composition. The grant is not intended to be used to pursue course work toward a degree or for ongoing projects. However, a grant may be approved for one additional year at the discretion of the Teacher Enrichment Grant Committee. The number of grants awarded in any year are determined by the number of qualified applicants and the available funds.

Grant applications and guidelines for 2004 will be available September 1. Applications are due in the MTNA national headquarters office by mid-January, and grant recipients will be announced at the 2004 MTNA National Conference in Kansas City, Missouri Kansas City is the largest city in the state of Missouri. It encompasses parts of Jackson, Clay, Cass, and Platte counties and is the anchor city of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, the second largest in Missouri, which includes counties in both Missouri and Kansas. , in March. Funds are distributed no later than May 1, 2004.
