School ratings were released Thursday by the state Department of Education. Each school's rating is determined by test scores (80 percent of overall score), attendance, percentage of students who took state tests and other factors. Schools that did not receive ratings either had too few students taking standardized tests A standardized test is a test administered and scored in a standard manner. The tests are designed in such a way that the "questions, conditions for administering, scoring procedures, and interpretations are consistent" [1] , had less than three years' worth of data or experienced a significant change in population through a boundary change or merger.
