2003 metalcasting industry lost workday injury, illness rates released by U.S. Bureau of Labor.


The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)

A research agency of the U.S. Department of Labor; it compiles statistics on hours of work, average hourly earnings, employment and unemployment, consumer prices and many other variables.
 released the 2003 Injury and Illness rates, which reflect OSHA's recordable cases and cases of employees with days away, restricted or transferred (DART) from work.

The table below displays the 2003 rates--with the new North American North American

named after North America.

 Industry Classification System (NAICS NAICS North American Industry Classification System ) codes--and rates from 1999-2002--with the former Standard Industrial Classifications (SIC) codes.

The rates were calculated using the injury numbers divided by the total hours worked during the calendar year and multiplied mul·ti·ply 1
