What began as the dream of two closely-knit non-profit organizations, two dedicated boards of directors and a multitude of friends of the foundations has blossomed into one of the most prestigious auctions in south Florida.

Fritz Hatton, international wine consultant and Christie's auctioneer, commented on the 2002 event, "This auction featured the highest quality group of burgundy wines ever offered at auction in my experience." Mr. Hatton has accepted an invitation to return to Vero Beach and conduct the live auction at the third annual event.

The 2002 Treasure Coast Wine Auction featured 50 lots of rare wines, a vast array of exotic travel adventures, and the lively bidding of over 400 guests - raising more than $450,000. Highlights of last year's auction were: vertical collection of Grace Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from 1983-1994 - $10,000; a selection of twelve Domaine Dujac Red Burgundies - $7,000; an expertly selected case of assorted 1998 Red Burgundy - $5,000, one case of 1985 Domaine Leroy, Volnay "Les Bouillards" 1985 - $4,200, and a 12 bottle collection of 1989 Chateau Palmer, Bordeaux - $4,000.

Bringing a strong dedication to this event, Dr. Wm. King and Mrs. Dace Stubbs will once again share their passion for fine wines as chairpersons of the Treasure Coast Wine Auction. Mrs. Stubbs is a member of the board of directors for both Brown-Forman Corporation and the VNA VNA
