2003 Poster Contest winners.


We're pleased to announce the winners of the 2003 National Dance Week Poster Contest that is sponsored each year by DANCE MAGAZINE and Capezio Ballet Makers. The long-running annual contest, whose winners are announced during National Dance Week, is open to dance students in three age categories; winners receive cash prizes, certificates, dance merchandise, and publication of their posters in DANCE MAGAZINE or at www.dancemagazine.com.

There were approximately 400 submissions received by January 6, nearly double the number of entries in previous years. Written recording of dance movements. The earliest notation, in the late 15th century, consisted of letter-symbols. Several attempts were made in later centuries to describe dance steps, but no unified system combined both rhythm and steps until the 1920s,
