ABOUT THE BOOK:

Crispin: The Cross of Lead, set in 14th century England,

is the story of "Asta's Son," the only name the

13-year-old title character has ever known. The lack of

name is appropriate for this poor peasant boy, who is

suddenly orphaned or·phan
