Forty foreign consuls now serve the Detroit Region. In addition to providing visas for foreign visitors and passports and certificates for their citizens, consuls also work to improve the commercial relations between their country and Michigan, promote cultural relations and provide information on local development in the commercial, cultural, economic and scientific sectors to their country.
