2003 BioScience Awards: honouring exceptional achievement. The award recipients included: * Dr. Wilf Keller received the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes a leader, innovator, and champion of biosciences in Saskatchewan. He is known worldwide for his work championing the development and application of biotechnologies for crop genetic modification. Dr. Keller works with the Plant Biotechnology Institute The Biotechnology Institute is an independent nonprofit organization founded to teach the public about the benefits of biotechnology. It was created in 1998 by the biotechnology industry and is located in Arlington, Virginia. of the National Research Council and has served as Group Leader for Canola Biotechnology and Head of the Transgenic Plant Centre. In 1999, Wilf accepted his current position of Research Director. * Mr. John Cross, President and Chairman of Philom Bios Inc., was the recipient of the Entrepreneurial Leadership and Vision Award.
