But when it comes to Angela Hupp, the Spirits' exciting young outside hitter, Neill is not holding back one bit. In fact, if things work out the way Neill expects, Hupp won't be just Paraclete's best player by the end of the season, if not sooner. She could finish her career as the Spirits' best player of all time.

And Neill isn't afraid to say so.

``Not when it comes to Angela,'' Neill said. ``She's a very talented player.''

There are plenty of reasons for Neill's excitement, not the least of which is Hupp's size - she's 6-foot-1 and growing. On top of that, there is the experience factor. Hupp is only a freshman, but she's played three years on an 18-under club travel team. As a result, the transition to the Paraclete varsity team In the United States and Canada and UK, varsity sports teams are the principal athletic teams representing a college, university, or high school or other secondary school. Such teams compete against the principal athletic teams at other colleges/universities, or in the case of  is expected to go smoothly.

``I don't anticipate any problems with her playing at a high level from the outset,'' Neill said. ``She'll contribute from the very beginning.''

The addition of Hupp, coupled with the arrival of 6-foot sophomore middle blocker Nicole Gurr from the junior varsity junior varsity

, will give the Spirits much-needed height. And that's cause for excitement and heightened hopes for a special year.

``We have more size than we've ever had,'' Neill said. ``As a result, this could be one of the best teams we've have in a long time.''

Hupp and Gurr will have plenty of experienced players around them, which only enhances Neill's confidence the Spirits will develop into one of the best team's she's had at Paraclete.

They'll be joined by returning starters Amy Paradiso (middle blocker), Jenna Gilbert (outside hitter), Ashley Pinley (outside hitter) and Taylor Wilson, who will play a defensive role.

creates a slight cause for concern, at least through the early part of the season.

``It may take a little while before everyone gets comfortable,'' Neill said. ``It's something we're prepared for.''

The hope is Paraclete will have completed that process by the time Alpha League play starts in October.
