2002 Agribusiness Leader of the Year Charles Fischer Dow AgroSciences, LLC. (Award Winners).The National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) has honored Charles Fischer, president and CEO of Dow AgroSciences, LLC, with the 2002Agribusiness Leader of the Year Award. The award, presented at the Opening General Session of the annual Agri-Marketing Conference & Trade Show, April 18, in Nashville, is NAMA's highest honor. The award is designed to honor an outstanding leader in agribusiness, education, government service or other agribusiness related areas. Solicited from senior level position holders in private, public or academic service, nominees exemplify excellence in agribusiness by their significant contributions to the industry. Fischer works to keep Dow AgroSciences agile in the face of change. He has positioned the company as a leader in innovative technologies, including many cutting-edge aspects of biotechnology. Because of his commitment to innovative and environmentally sensitive pest management, his company has won several of the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards for products which are effective yet environmentally sound. Fischer is the first to serve his U.S. and global industry simultaneously as CropLife International (formerly Global Crop Protection Association) president and American Crop Protection Association chairman (now CropLife America.) He serves as a trustee of the Farm Foundation and is a board member of Junior Achievement of Central Indiana. He is an active member of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources & Related Sciences. |
