Focusing on developments in Latin America, the CDG will host its second CDMA South America International Summit in the Spring. Bringing together the world's leading wireless and Internet companies, the CDG will host the Sixth Annual CDMA World Congress in Hong Kong. Celebrating CDMA's successes on an international scale, the CDMA World Congress has garnered participation in the past years from cutting-edge speakers.

Following record-breaking attendance at the 2000 CDMA Americas Congress in San Diego, the 2001 event will be held at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center The Washington State Convention and Trade Center is a convention center located next to and over Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle, Washington, adjacent to Freeway Park. Planning for its construction began in 1982; construction began in 1985, and the center opened on June 18, 1988.  in Seattle.

The CDMA Development Group is a nonprofit trade association formed to foster the worldwide development, implementation and use of cdmaOne and 3G CDMA. The 110 member companies of the CDG include many of the world's largest wireless operators and equipment manufacturers. The primary activities of the CDG include development of CDMA features and services, public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment.
