Jim McDonnell, vice president and worldwide marketing manager for HP's Business Customer Organization, said, "This year's ChiliFest was particularly successful. There was an added flavor of unity to an event that will continue to be very beneficial for reuniting missing children with their families." HP, Compaq, Microsoft, Canon, Computer Associates, and other companies participated in this year's event, sending employees to the Cox Pavilion to build company-sponsored booths, compete in the chili cook-off and satisfy the appetites of attendees who donated $50 a piece to attend the charity event. While the NCMEC and the families they help were the big winners, Computer Associates had a good evening being awarded the "People's Choice," "Most Money Raised," and the "Spirit of Chili" titles.
