2000 GUGGENHEIM GRANTS.


The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation was founded in 1925 by Mr. and Mrs. Simon Guggenheim in memory of their son, who died April 26, 1922. The organization awards Guggenheim Fellowships to professionals who have demonstrated exceptional ability by publishing a significant  has announced the winners of its 76th annual fellowship award. One hundred and eighty-two artists, scholars and scientists selected from over 2900 applicants will receive awards totaling $6,345,000.
