, received the prestigious 2000 Functional Medicine Linus Pauling Award Saturday (May 27, 2000) at the Seventh International Symposium on Functional Medicine in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The award is the highest honor conferred by The Institute for Functional Medicine, host of the annual symposium. Dr. Galland was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the practice of functional medicine as a physician and author.

The award was presented to Dr. Galland by Sidney M. Baker, M.D., Weston, Conn., the 1999 recipient, who is widely recognized for his research in the nutritional, biochemical, and environmental aspects of chronic illness in adults and children.

Dr. Galland was recognized by over 600 physicians and healthcare practitioners, who gathered for the conference from more than 24 countries.
