2000 AFS Metalcasting Industry Performance (MIP) Study.


The 2000 AFS A distributed file system for large, widely dispersed Unix and Windows networks from Transarc Corporation, now part of IBM. It is noted for its ease of administration and expandability and stems from Carnegie-Mellon's Andrew File System.

The aim of the study is to develop benchmarking data for the North American foundry industry. In addition to collecting basic information on metals, mold and coremaking processes, metals, casting weights a weight that turns a balance when exactly poised.
