First Annual "Circle of Excellence" Award

for Unique and Significant Contributions, Innovation, Longevity

and Inspiration to be Awarded to Dr. Myra Hart Myra M. Hart is a founder of Staples, Inc. She graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in 1962 and an M.B.A. 1981. She obtained a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1995. She is currently a professor at Harvard Business School.  and Dr. Kenan Sahin Kenan Eyup Sahin is a Turkish-American scientist and entrepreneur.

After graduating from Robert College of Istanbul, he received both his S.B. (1963) and Ph.D. degrees (1969) from the MIT Sloan School of Management and then taught on the faculties of the Massachusetts
 

The New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt.  Business and Technology Association (NEBATA NEBATA New England Business and Technology Association ) announces that it will host two premier events that focus on future technologies as enablers of business productivity and profitability on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza The Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel (or Copley Plaza as it is colloquially known) is a four-star hotel in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. It was built in 1912 on St. James Avenue and defines the south side of Copley Square.

The first event, the Leadership Roundtable, is a forward-looking thought leadership program that will focus on technology as a driver and enabler of business effectiveness and profitability. Later that evening, at the Technology-Enabled Business/Awards Summit, NEBATA will announce the 20 finalists for the New England Business and Technology Awards, as well as induct in·duct

Circle of Excellence

The first annual Circle of Excellence honors unique business and technology leaders whose pioneering spirit, innovation, longevity and demonstrated inventiveness throughout their careers have been an inspiration to others, and have contributed significantly to their organizations, the region and society. The first two distinguished business and technology leaders to be inducted into NEBATA's "Circle of Excellence" are Dr. Myra Hart, Harvard Business School Harvard Business School, officially named the Harvard Business School: George F. Baker Foundation, and also known as HBS, is one of the graduate schools of Harvard University.  professor and a founding officer of Staples, and Dr. Kenan Sahin, president of TIAX, a collaborative product and technology development firm that accelerates innovation by integrating business, industry, and hands-on technology expertise. Dr. Sahin also founded Kenan Systems, since merged with Lucent Technologies. Both will present their unique perspectives on business and technology, as well as provide insights into their personal experiences and philosophies.

Leadership Roundtable Series

Beginning at 3:00 p.m., leading business and technology leaders will convene to look at some of today's most promising technologies, innovations and applications, and the impact they will have on business in upcoming years. The Leadership Roundtable: "Technology-Enabled Business: Assessment and Future-Spective" will provide attendees with perspectives on the opportunities and risks that will emerge. This future-spective will look both at the emerging technologies that are transforming business today, as well as provide prognostications for the future. Participants include:
