20 20 SOFTWARE INTRODUCES NEW VERSION OF PC-INSTALL AND $99 COMPETITIVE UPGRADE OFFER; Award-winning installation software simplifies the process of distributing software or data files for developers and corporate users.

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 1995--20/20 Software today introduced version 3.0 for DOS of its PC Install installation software program, complementing version 3.0 for Windows that was introduced in November 1994. PC Install provides developers with an easy and professional way to distribute applications and data files. Distribution may be done via diskettes, over a network, or on CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

. This new version is the first significant upgrade in over a year.

In addition to introducing the new version with an attractive $69 upgrade price for existing users, 20/20 Software is also offering users of other qualifying installation programs the opportunity to purchase PC Install for DOS at a special price of $99 for a limited period.

Currently, people who need to distribute software or data files -- such as developers, consultants, and corporate users -- are using error-prone, unprofessional looking batch files, or spending weeks or even months developing their own installation programs, thereby often slowing the distribution of key applications and data files.

"Writing an installation program from scratch is not worth the trouble," said Cay S. Horstmann, associate professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at San Jose San Jose, city, United States

State University. "If you just need a quick installation program that copies compressed files and looks more professional than a batch file, then look at PC Install. You'll be finished in an hour to two and can go back to `real programming.'" The new version of PC Install for DOS is an easy to use application that provides all of the features needed for installing software and data files. To send out files, the user simply gives PC Install instructions such as what files need to be copied, and what personal messages need to be displayed. PC Install does the rest. It will automatically verify sufficient disk space, check for a particular CPU CPU
