VALENCIA - There is nothing more tragic for Cris Embleton than knowing a tragically ill baby is out there and that Embleton's hands are tied - because of money.

Two-month-old Maria has a rare form of eye cancer. She lost one eye shortly after birth. Without treatment, she will lose the other eye, and likely not make it to her first birthday.

Healing the Children put out a special appeal last week in hopes of raising the money for Maria.

 Murphree believes he can save not only her life, but her vision. And while the organization typically finds doctors willing to donate their services, hospitals must be paid, Embleton said.

``It's a service they can render for us - it's a matter of giving us a bed and using equipment - they're always helpful,'' Embleton said. ``But when it starts costing them money, hospitals just can't do that. That's why we need money.''
