2-YEAR-OLD DROWNS IN POOL.Byline: Daily News A 2-year-old San Jose boy drowned after he fell into his grandparents' swimming pool Saturday evening, fire officials said. The boy had been missing for five to 10 minutes when he was found in the swimming pool at 6:55 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis. Emergency dispatchers gave cardiopulmonary cardiopulmonary /car·dio·pul·mo·nary/ (kahr?de-o-pool´mah-nar-e) pertaining to the heart and lungs. car·di·o·pul·mo·nar·y (kär d resuscitation instructions by phone to the grandparents before paramedics arrived a few minutes later. ``Nothing was working to revive the boy,'' Collis said. The child was transported from the residence on the 10500 block of Haskell Avenue to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. He was pronounced dead at the Holy Cross, hospital officials said. The boy's parents were in San Jose at the time of the incident and were en route to Los Angeles on Saturday night. |
