2 VALLEY FIRMS TO ACCEPT EXPORT AWARD.

How sweet it, uh, smells.

Calabasas-based Breath Asure Inc. - whose most famous product is BreathAsure, also known as The Internal Breath Freshener - is one of two local businesses expected to receive today the Export Achievement Award at the World Trade Week Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  Kick-Off Breakfast at the Biltmore Hotel Biltmore Hotel is the name of a hotel chain created by hotel magnate John McEntee Bowman.

The name evokes the Vanderbilt family's Biltmore Estate, whose buildings and gardens within are privately owned historical landmarks and tourist attractions in Asheville, North

 is CBOL CBOL Consortium for the Barcode of Life  Corp., a Woodland Hills-based company that specializes in aerospace components. Two other companies - Torrance-based Dermalogica Inc. and Manhattan Beach-based XStatic - will also be honored.

To qualify for the export award, a company must show significant growth in export sales over three years and now ``derive a considerable portion of their revenues from export,'' spokeswoman Patti Hirahara said.

Breath Assure began exporting in 1994 to Mexico and Canada, and now sells to 36 countries on five continents. Those sales comprise about 20 percent of the company's sales, said Ernesto Rocco, senior manager of international sales and marketing.

CBOL, with annual sales of about $100 million, began exporting to Korea about 10 years ago and now exports an expanded product base to 23 countries.
