SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. , director of classified personnel with the Las Virgenes Unified School District Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD) is a K-12 school district in north-west Los Angeles County, USA consisting of 14 public schools in the cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Westlake Village, and several small portions of the West Hills section of Los Angeles.  based at Calabasas, will fill Hart's currently vacation position as director of classified personnel. The appointments will take effect July 1.

She became the first principal at La Mesa La Mesa (lə mā`sə), city (1990 pop. 52,931), San Diego co., S Calif., a suburb of San Diego; inc. 1912. It is a retail center and a popular residence for upper- and middle-income professionals in the San Diego area.  Junior High in 1993 and served in that position until moving up to the district office as director of human resources in 2001.

In her current position, she has been active in union negotiations, created the district's new teacher-training programs and recruited and hired teachers and administrators.

"Rochelle has a unique combination of skills that makes her a human resources administrator of the first order," von Buelow said. "Few administrators I have known can match the quality of work I have seen with her or match her breadth of experience."

Shiner began her career in 1994 with the Eastside Union School District in Lancaster, where she worked in finance and payroll. She served as coordinator of personnel and payroll with the Castaic Union School District from 1997 to 2003.

She was named director of classified personnel for the Las Virgenes Unified School District in 2003, where she is in charge of employee/employer relations, recruitment, selection, evaluation, discipline, termination and staff development of nonteaching staff members.

"We received nothing (but) sterling comments from Ms. Shiner's previous supervisors," said Donald Rimac, the Hart district's interim director of classified personnel. "She is very concerned about all levels of staff. She will be a great asset to the Hart District."
