2 INJURED WHEN MAN RUNS RED LIGHT.

VALENCIA - Two drivers were injured Friday morning when a Saugus man ran a red light and collided with a Yellow Taxi cab at Valencia Boulevard and Creekside Drive, officials said.

The crash occurred just after 9:30 a.m. when Gary Davis, 57, ran through a red light as he drove south on Valencia Boulevard and collided with an eastbound east·bound

, Colin Veitch Colin Veitch was a football player in the early 20th century for Newcastle United.

Veitch was born in the Heaton area of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1882. At school he was both a gifted scholar and footballer, becoming the first captain of Newcastle Schools in 1895.
, 62, of Lake View Terrace were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital with cuts and bruises, Bowers said.

After the crash, Davis told investigating officers that he thought the light was green. Bowers, however, said three witnesses confirmed the light was red when Davis drove through the intersection.

Davis was deemed to be at fault in the crash but was not cited, Bowers said.
