The Black Canyon fire started about 2:33 p.m. and was first reported from the 1024 block of Black Canyon Road, Fire Department officials said. It was put out about 3:37 p.m., with the assistance of firefighters from Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. city and county fire departments.
