In the new alignment announced Tuesday, Roth, the chairman of Walt Disney Motion Pictures, will be in charge of the production of films and network television. Iger, the president of Capital Cities/ABC, will be in charge of the distribution of Disney/ABC's television programming, as well as the production of much of Disney's syndicated television programming.

Roth will add responsibility for Walt Disney and Touchstone Television production, a group that now produces programs like ``Home Improvement'' and ``Ellen'' for prime-time television, and animated cartoons in syndication, including shows like ``Duck Tales.''
