A crowd of nearly 2,000 family, friends and law enforcement officers from across California attended a funeral Mass on Monday for a Ventura County sheriff's deputy who was killed in the line of duty In the Line of Duty may refer to:

The slain deputy, Peter Aguirre, 26, had been responding to a domestic dispute Thursday in rural Meiners Oaks. A suspect has been charged in the killing.
