THE PATH OF THE HEART, (available from 1stBooks Library), is the first in a new series of nonfiction books by Joy Jenkins and her husband, William.

William writes from the other side through Jenkins, who is a professional channel. These books challenge the core of mankind's traditional existence. Jenkins believes that the world is rapidly changing from a three dimensional world to a multidimensional world, where it is possible to maintain communication with those loved ones that have passed on, where faith will flourish and where healings will regularly occur.

Using a blend of Christianity and New Age philosophy, it merges the tenets of both into one belief system of unconditional love that touches all faiths and all people. Two traditional publishers wanted THE PATH OF THE HEART, because the love story reminded them of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, but Jenkins turned them down because they wanted to erase the spirituality and turn it into another worldly BRIDGES.

Instead of adhering to the usual love story template, Jenkins creates a powerful examination of love in all of its manifestations whether unconditional, spiritual or romantic love. The two main characters consist of a hard-drinking cowboy fighting addiction and abandonment and a channel who works with angelic forces to teach unconditional love. By blending these opposing forces of the dark and the light, the ending is a real twist on the conventional.
