1st Century Bank, N.A. Announces the Appointment of Randall T. Hata as Acting Chief Financial Officer and the Resignation of Jeffrey M. Watson, Chief Operating Officer.

LOS ANGELES -- 1st Century Bank, N.A. ("1st Century") (OTCBB:FCNA) announced today that the Board of Directors has appointed Randall T. Hata, Senior Vice President and Controller, as acting Chief Financial Officer. Hata is one of the key members of the original management team that organized 1st Century in 2003 and has headed the finance department since 1st Century's opening in March 2004.

Jeffrey M. Mr. Watson will be available to assist on special projects during the transition through December 31, 2006. Mr. Watson's responsibilities will be assumed by Mr. Hata and other members of the management team.
