Former CEO of VMARK (Ardent Software Inc) Joins 1mage

Capeless served 11 years at VMARK Software, Inc., Westborough, MA, formerly Ardent Software Inc (www.ardentsoftware.com). Ardent merged with Informix on March 1, 2000. Capeless, as President and CEO of VMARK, undertook strategic and operational leadership when they were a $3 million, 35-person software company operating at a loss. He turned the company into one of the fastest-growing software suppliers worldwide, with $68 million in revenue and 440 employees. Under his leadership, VMARK achieved seven-plus years of revenue and profit growth from business operations, including a string of 25 consecutive quarters. VMARK was selected as one of Software Magazine's "top 100 Software Companies" in 1994-1996.

Prior to joining VMARK, Capeless held several executive marketing positions with firms such as Prime Computer and Honeywell Information Systems, where he was responsible for building domestic and international markets. Capeless holds both BA and MA degrees from the University of Massachusetts.
