1ST BANCORP announces purchase of UniFed Insurance Agency's book of business.VINCENNES, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1996--Vincennes based 1ST BANCORP and Evansville based National City Bancshares, Inc. announced today that they have signed an Agreement whereby 1ST BANCORP's subsidiary insurance agency, First Financial Insurance Agency, Inc., purchased the book of insurance business of UniFed, Inc., an insurance agency owned by Pike County Pike County is the name of several counties in the United States:
"The acquisition of UniFed's book of business will provide to First Financial Insurance Agency an expanded customer base and additional insurance products," stated C. James McCormick, Chairman of 1ST BANCORP. "We are pleased that Dixie Bouchie, Greg Nixon, and Kathy Beasley will join First Financial Insurance Agency. Former UniFed clients will continue to receive the same quality service they have had in the past. "We feel this acquisition will enhance the profitability of First Financial Insurance Agency and will provide the necessary resources to position the Agency into the future," added Chairman McCormick. The UniFed Agency offices will be moving to 626 Veterans Drive in Vincennes and to 108 South Fifth Avenue in Princeton.
