specializing in corporate interior work are now faced with layoffs.

Versatility and adaptability seem to be the keys to success for the construction industry. Construction firms that have a diversified approach and focus on healthcare, retail and public sector projects are flourishing as money is pumped into these industries. Just a few of the high profile public projects that are currently underway include the renovation of the 911 call centers by the Fire Department of New York New York, state, United States

However, even the most versatile of firms face many challenges in today's market Of major concern throughout the industry are insurance coverage and the constantly rising premiums. It is estimated that insurance premiums for the construction industry's "umbrella policies" have increased by more than 200% over the past year and a half, alone.

In addition, the construction industry is also faced with a potentially more damaging issue than the increase in premiums: The lack of coverage. Due to a slimmer insurance industry, carriers are providing coverage to a fraction of the companies they once serviced -- perhaps as little as 10% - l5% of all prospective applicants even receive a quote. As a result, according to some New York City New York City: see New York, city.

With the increased geo-political stability and the recovery of the financial markets during the next several months, the corporate interior construction industry looks to be on the path to recovery over the next six to 12 months.
