1ClickCharge and uTOK to Create Communications Platform for Digital Content Customers; Users to Read Notes From Previous Customers Before Purchasing Content.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 28, 1999

1ClickCharge(TM) and uTOK today announced an agreement to develop a co-branded communications platform that will allow users to read notes containing knowledge and opinions about digital content before making a purchase. 1ClickCharge is the single-click Internet payment service See Web payment service.  and a majority-owned operating company operating company

(Nasdaq: CMGI). uTOK is a leader in the nascent browsing companion industry, which hopes to ultimately change the way individuals and businesses use the Web.

Beginning today, the 1ClickCharge and uTOK co-branded application will be distributed free of charge to customers who want to join the 1ClickCharge community. Customers can use the co-branded platform to communicate with each other on a merchant site-- or anywhere else on the Web.

The co-branded application includes a "my community" feature, allowing customers to view comments of other 1ClickCharge users. This community feature is the first of its kind in a payment service, linking customers who have the common interest of accessing premium content on the Internet. Once the 1ClickCharge payment service launches, customers will be able to use the communications platform to exchange opinions about premium content at the point of purchase. For example, a 1ClickCharge user comes across a piece of content he or she is interested in purchasing. By clicking on the co-branded icon, the user can view comments and ratings made by individuals who have previously purchased the same content. The user can also leave a note with comments for future customers or reply to the comments of others. In addition to enhancing communication among users, the co-branded client offers 1ClickCharge a non-intrusive way to tell its users about new affiliated merchants and special offers.

"We are not only interested in creating the most simple method for purchasing content on the Web, but also in building a community among our customers. What better way to ensure that customers will be pleased with their purchase than by offering them a tool to view honest reviews of the item by previous customers," said Heidi R. Goff, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
