The top three DRAM vendors controlled close to 60 percent of the total market. Compare these numbers to 1998 when the top five DRAM vendors controlled 60 percent of the total market. The 1999 DRAM market grew by 47.8 percent, and megabit One million bits. Also Mb, Mbit and M-bit. See mega and space/time. growth was a healthy 81.9 percent. Consequently, the revenue picture improved for most DRAM vendors last year. Revenue shipments followed the historical trend of a slow first half and a robust second half of the year. Revenue was up 8.3 percent in 1Q99; down 8.2 percent in 2Q99; up 14.5 percent in 3Q99 and skyrocketed to 39.0 percent in 4Q99.
