1992 ALASKA CRUISE/TOUR SEASON SHAPING UP TO BE ANOTHER RECORD
 FOR HOLLAND AMERICA LINE-WESTOURS INC.
SEATTLE, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- If bookings continue at their present pace, the 1992 Alaska cruise/tour season is shaping up to be another record season for Holland America Line-Westours Inc., the company said today.
"Our bookings for Alaska are running at record levels -- 12 percent ahead of last year, which was a record year for the company," said Kirk Lanterman, president and chief executive officer.
"In 1991, both our cruises and tour products operated at record levels throughout the summer, giving us our fourth consecutive record season.
"Alaska continues to be one of the hottest vacation destinations. It offers spectacular natural beauty, wildlife viewing, and a frontier atmosphere -- all on domestic soil -- for a combination that's just about unbeatable," Lanterman continued.
Holland America Westours, Alaska's largest and most experienced travel company, offers a choice of 73 cruise departures between May and September. The company also offers the largest selection and most comprehensive cruisetours of the Great Land -- 28 independent cruisetour itineraries ranging in length from five to 18 days. Travelers also may choose from 11 escorted cruisetour itineraries ranging from 13 to 18 days. These tours include baggage handling, gratuities, most meals, and the services of a knowledgeable tour director.
"Good space still exists, but if travelers don't move quickly it's possible they'll be restricted in choices of dates and itineraries," said Lanterman, who encouraged potential Alaska visitors to see their local travel agent "immediately."
Travelers can still save up to $300 per couple on an Alaska vacation with Holland America's Spring Savings Program in effect through April 3, 1992. Travel agents have details.
Holland America's four luxury cruise ships -- the ss Rotterdam, ms Nieuw Amsterdam, ms NooLine-Westours Inc. is part of Carnival Cruise Lines, the most popular cruise line in the world.
