18 Sugar Mills are in process of crushing sugar cane: Ali.KARACHI, November 16, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Sindh Minister for Agriculture Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, has said that at present 18 Sugar Mills are in process of crushing crushing deaths of newborn animals, especially those in litters, caused by the mother lying on them accidentally. He added that the mills require at least 130 thousand Maunds of sugar cane for crushing process daily, the mills are receiving sugar cane up to 10 to 15 thousand Maunds, and the slow supply is affecting the crushing process. Sindh Minister for Agriculture stressed upon growers and Khatidars to supply early sugar cane to sugar mills for crushing the same. He has requested Zamardars to cooperate and play their positive role so as to provide early relief to common men. He said hat with the arrangements of the Sindh Government 1300 (One thousand three hundred) Ton of sugar has reached in the market up to Friday November 13 and the delivery of sugar at the rate of rupees 36 per kg has been made to whole sale market. While the retailers will be provided sugar at the rate of rupees 40 per kg on retail sale in shops. Sindh Agriculture Minister further added that the provincial government is thankful to High Court of Sindh At the time of establishment of the High Court of West Pakistan the number of the Judges of the Karachi Bench was almost the same but subsequently it was increased to 15 and on separation of Sindh & Baluchistan High Courts 12 Judges were allocated to the Sindh High Court and 3 Judges to that 2200 tons ( Two thousand Two hundred Tons) of sugar has been handed over to Sindh Agriculture Department.
